CRISIS PREVENTION TEAM
A family crisis is an unplanned event that could happen at anytime to any family. To help provide support during those difficult times, the Crisis Intervention Program has been providing support and services for area children and their families for ten years. The program's "after-hours" services offer families an intensive crisis intervention to help resolve the problems they face. These services make it easy to find support anytime during the night or on weekends. Families can call the Crisis Intervention Team Monday through Friday 5:00pm to 8:00am and 24 hours a day on the weekends.
The Crisis Intervention Team serves Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Manistee, Wexford, Roscommon, and Missaukee counties with emergency crisis intervention services and/or crisis respite beds for families in need. The program's objective is to provide a comprehensive crisis service that will benefit area families and their children and compliment existing services in their communities.
The program is easily accessible as anybody can call to access these services. If the Crisis Team can not help you, workers will find someone who can. The call and services are free of charge to families.
The services represent a collaborative effort between area agencies including but not limited to NFIS, Pine Rest - Traverse City Clinic, Child and Family Services/Professional Parenting Crisis Respite Program, Third Level Crisis Center's Crisis Hotline, the Association of Children's Mental Health, and the United Way.
